DISCOVERY POINT SEVEN OAKS

The Discovery Point Child Development Center has been proud to be part of the Wesley Chapel Community for over 5 years. It has been our pleasure to play such an important role in providing care and education to all of our children. We have a team of dedicated professionals whose goals are simple. That is to provide care to our children rooted in what we call the “Three A’s”. Attention, Affection and Approval are cornerstones of what have made us the loving and nurturing center that our families have come to admire, trust and respect. As an educational based Child Care Center, we incorporate fun, love and happiness into our daily routines. We provide care for infants as young as 6 weeks old and offer before and after school care for kids 12 years old. Our lead teachers are all CDA credentialed and all of our teachers have passed rigorous background screenings as well as being certified in CPR and First Aid. Our programs feature hot lunches and daily snacks included in our weekly tuitions. In addition to our infant and preschool classes, we are pleased to be one of the areas most sought after VPK programs, offering this free program to any child who turns 4 years old by September 1st of that school year. In our 5 plus years of operation we have received a tremendous number of referrals from current and past parents as well as the enrollment of siblings into our various programs. We are proud of these recommendations and are committed to always provide the level of excellence, care and love that Discovery Point Seven Oaks is known for.
In 2007, Discovery Point Seven Oaks was named the winner of the President’s Award as the top rated Discovery Point in the nation. To be recognized from the National Headquarters in Atlanta, GA as the “best of the best” in our first full year of operation was an accomplishment that we will take pride in forever.
As the owners of this family owned business, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the hundreds of families who have allowed us the privilege to care for your children. We hope that all of you know that we are genuinely proud and honored to be an important part of your lives. All of your kids are “our” kids, too. We truly love them and again thank you for being part of our lives.
For those of you we have not yet met, we invite you to stop by and take a tour of our school or contact us at 994-2700.
Sincerely,
Mike Keeney and Gayle Hahn, Owners

Parent Testimonials:

My child went there for VPK last year and enjoyed his year there.
The teacher, Miss Kassina, was great with the children. They seemed to really work at preparing them for K, especially in the area of language arts / phonics. My child was very well prepared for K this year.

They had a small afternoon class size, along with an assistant in the classroom. This made it nice, as I felt my child got individual attention.

Another nice feature is that they meet you at your car door as you drop off your child. If you have another younger child in the car, this is great, as you don't have to get everyone out to take your child into the building.

They switch it up enough between outdoor time, circle time, center time, and seat work time that it makes it nice for the children.
The seat work they do does involve paper-pencil tasks, probably my child's least favorite, but seeing that paper-pencil tasks are now being required of kindergarten children, it did provide a good intro. to these.
My child's favorite times were time in centers and time on the playground. Miss Kassina has a nice way of managing her centers. The children really get the concept and know how to use the centers within the first week of the year.

One of the other features of their VPK program is that they offer two programs, one in the a.m. and one in the p.m.
Again, if you have a little one who still naps, the p.m. program works great, as you can drop your VPK'r off and then your little one can nap for the afternoon.
This option worked out great for our family!

The facility is clean, bright, and cheery. The children in my child's class seemed happy.

The front office staff is super, too. Nicole, Mike, and Gail were all so nice to deal with and really make your child feel welcome.

If you are looking for a very solid VPK program, want small class size, and a kind, organized, professional teacher in a safe, clean, well run facility then go check out Miss Kassina's class at Discovery Point. She has a class in the morning and one in the afternoon, but call to see when it would be best to visit.

Since they do two VPK sessions a day, there is a time in the day when the teachers are on break or at lunch.
When the children are all arriving or being dismissed, I would suggest that you not go then, as there is a line of cars coming and going.

Actually, that would be my only criticism...wish that they had a bigger parking lot!
But the payoff of waiting and having them come to each car to get your individual child is SOOOOOOOO well worth the time.

You basically are guaranteed face time with your child's teacher each and every day. If there is a concern or if you have anything you need to share, it is done immediately, that same day.

All in all, our first child had a great VPK year there last year. We plan to send our younger child there next year.

" They have such a loving, caring and positive environment. If i was a kid, that definitely where i would want to go. I would recommend them to anyone."

"We chose Discovery Point because of the teachers. Abigail is the first baby i have had. The scariest thing about being a new mom is leaving her for the day and knowing she is safe. The teachers have been incredible for her and the owners as well. The first coupleof weeks i was calling constantly. I'm very happy with the care they have provided."
